I'd rather have a thousand "OHMIGOD WE WERE RIGHT!!!" theory confirmed moments where due to good storytelling and foreshadowing the audience was able to figure out parts of the future plot than just one more stupid twist that makes no narrative sense to avoid being "predictable".
If people knowing anything about your plot spoils the show entirely maybe it's just no good lmao.
It's not worth ruining your narrative themes and character integrity just so everyone is shocked. Sometimes twists that have been guessed .... Are better.

something vaguely in my head about the idea that a class of people can be “undeserving” of the right to strike because they make relatively more money than another class of people
and I don’t know how to articulate it exactly except that perhaps the idea that there’s some level of salary at which a person ceases to have the right to good working conditions is, mm, suspect, and that such a narrative ultimately just serves employers who don’t want to put the resources into improving
anyway. just thinking i guess
there was a post on here years and years ago that I read along the lines of “saying there’s a point where you’re too rich to complain about conditions is a great way of making sure no one ever complains about conditions”
like, everyone who’s poor is going to be dismissed as jealous losers, and anyone who can’t be dismissed that way is going to be dismissed as elitists complaining about stuff that doesn’t affect them instead. it’s lose-lose. and it’s like that on purpose.
I want the writer’s strike to last until they get everything they demand and more. I want the SAG strike to last until AI is entirely forbidden across the board in the entire industry. I want CGI artists to unionize and strike. I want animators to strike. I want composers and directors and designers and VAs and techies and producers and stage hands and game devs and programmers and recording artists to strike.
I want every aspect of the entertainment industry brought to a grinding halt for months or even years to take it from the corps and put it back in the hands of the artists.
The sense I get from a lot of queer media is that my high school friendships weren't nearly fucked up enough. They're like "yeah, this person aggressively and at times violently disrespects my boundaries, they act like they're entitled to know everything about me while constantly keeping potentially damaging secrets from me and genuinely don't seem to perceive any double standard there, they hold me to secret standards of behaviour and act personally betrayed if I don't live up to them, and they're my best friend in the world, I would literally die for them", and I'm just sitting here like "I 100% cannot relate, but this is such a consistent and recurring theme that it almost feels like I was missing out".

you guys know you can get USB connectable CD, dvd, and blu-ray players right. and you can buy external hard drives with crazy amounts of space for an amount of money that would make the average person from 2009’s head explode bc of how cheap it is. and if you do this and get ripping software such as handbrake for CDs and DVDs and makeMKV for blurays you can both own a physical copy of whatever media you want and make it accessible to yourself no matter where you are. do you guys know this
"Guy who acts like you're personally oppressing them when you acknowledge the existence of tabletop RPGs that aren't Dungeons & Dragons" versus "guy who's like 'oh my god, just play a different game', but then their rec list consists exclusively of Dungeons & Dragons clones" – fight!

GURPS guy joins the fray with a metal chair
GURPS guy can't join in because GURPS guy is participating in the "'universal system' advocate who conflates being setting-agnostic with being game-mechanically unopinionated about what player characters actually do" verus "'system matters' advocate who still takes GNS theory seriously in the year 2023" match down the hall.
You'll be looking for the "indie game designer who thinks 'anime' is a genre" versus "indie game designer who thinks they're having their midlife crisis at the age of 23" bracket.
We're at the point that one local restaurant in my area has become a popular destination purely by word of mouth because it pays its employees properly.
"Hey, have you been there? They pay their servers a living wage"
"Yeah you don't have to tip, if you try to tip they'll turn you down"
"I like how they run their business. They treat their employees really well."
"It's a little expensive, so we can't go often, but the food is good and we like how they treat their staff"
I mean they were like
What if we just
Compensated people for their work?
And it was a revolutionary smash hit. They opened like five years ago and people still talk about it
Incredible

You aren’t going to get in my way today?
Ah, it was just a new type of attack.
